As I grew up a little, I outgrew my crib and my parents got me a toddler bed. Mom dismantled the crib and almost all of the screws and stuff was kept in ziplock bags. I was playing with Aarubhai upstairs and mom was downstairs. Suddenly, Aarubhai said "don't put that in your mouth!" and before mommy could ask anything he screames "mommy, Anaya put a screw in her mouth!"
Mommy ran, took e to the kitchen and put her fingers in my mouth, even tried to make me throw up but I just gagged and didn't really throw up. Then mom asked Aarubhai to describe the "screw", and he pointed to a nut (the flat screw with no point). She took a note from her doctor friend and got an xray taken at the hospital next door. And surely, the nut was inside my belly. Mommys friends husband who is a radiologist looked at the CD and concluded 90% this would come out in my potty- and if it doesn't, its a matter of concern.
Which meant every time I would go potty mom would have to look for the nut and it finally came out after 2 days, phew.
Its been over a year since this now.
At least now mom and dad can have a good laugh about this!

I am 3!!
Bhami Fia and Chintan Fua visited me from India and got me Elmo and Abby cupcakes!
Next we went to Build a Bear workshop, where I dressed up a Hello Kitty.

Are you happy with me?
If Im not getting enough attention, or negative attention I will walk up to mumma/papa/nani/nana/aaru n ask " are you happy with me?". and if you reply "no" i will retort back with the sweetest smile "no? Are you happy just a little bit?". Try to respond to that with a no!
Yes, my nani and nana are visiting and I am so happy. It especially concerns me if nana leaves home to get his coffee in the norning without giving me my flying kissy. Atulfua is my favorite person ever and the cuckoo clock in his house is my favorite clock.
I also had devanshbhai, manubhai, mami and mama visit us recently and i had so much fun with them. Today my mom just got me a new pair of shoes nd if anyone asks me who got them, I reply "Manubhai" without batting an eyelid. When nani makes me play with my fingers picking a finger for each person of the family I patiently wait till I hear Manubhai's name. Here is a picture of Manubhai and me just before we took the boat to status of liberty.
Recently when Aariv graduated from Pre-K he performed "A tootie top" and I have picked it up so well. I wsa all prepared to perform on Kaki's baby shower but chickened out and it ws a big disaster, and mumma and papa had to sing the song with all my kaki-kakas dancing to it. Of course, it was not as fun. I will give a private performance but the crowd scared me.
I love coloring and there are very few walls left in our apartment that have not got crayon marks on them. My conversations with Aaru amuse people. Papa recently overheard me and him talking:
Aariv: We will go to the park. We will see my friend EJ there. EJ has a little brother Aiden. He will be your friend.
Anaya: No. I have my own friends. Libby, Vincent, Vivaan, Sarah...
It breaks my heart to see Aariv cry. I go to his rescue right away, give him a hug and ask him "ayu what do you want. do you want candy? ice?" and he sometimes replies and I get him whatever will make him happy.
I love ice. It will resolve any issues with me. Sometimes I will walk up to anyone thats in the kitchen and point to a hand or finger or something and say "I got hurt". I will respond to "what happened?" with "i want ice".
Kaki kaka are going to have a baby. I am so excited I will be having a baby sister! Miss Maxine, my teacher warned my mom I am telling everyone that will listen "I am going to have a baby sister" and it is causing a lot of roumors. Will leave it to the elders to sort this mess out.

My favorite things
Here is a quick update on some of my favorite things:
We have ben taking Aariv to swim class. I wait at the edge and cant wait to go in, which I do sometimes when mama and papa are also swimming. In the mornings papa takes me to school on come days and when we talk on the way he often asks me where were going - i excitedly reply "swimming pool" :)
When mommy asks me often where Id like to go when we leave the house, I say park..swing. clearly, the swing is my faborite thing in the park.
I am very vocal now and speak loong sentences. You may understand a word or two, but no Gujarati, I only speak English, much to everyones dismay :(. Now that Nani and Nana are here and when all at home make it a point to speak in Gujarati I make an attempt to use Gujarati words when people dont understand what I say in English.
My favorite food- soup, pasta, and all fruits. All fruits are bananas for me first till I am corrected.
I love going to school and playing with my friends. Since spring we have been going to theplayground. Up until now this school had only taken us for walks but now since most kids are over 2 we are taken to the park and I love it!

Im moving to a new school!
I just got a spot in a closer location at the same school that I go to. Thats good for travel time. However I will miss all my friends!! Heres a video of a performance by my Fishies class last year.It is a pretty cool video shot by my friends daddy. Im hiding somewhere behind the teachers.

I was moved to the Bears class as I outgrew the Fishies, and my friends Maya and Isa moved with me. Yay! We love our new teachers. The lovingly call us the "Three Musketeers"! Here are our pictures from the "end of summer picnic"
This summer Aariv went to summer school in the big kids class in my daycare. It was so much fun playing with the bunny "sprout" in his class. The first day I tried to get too close to him he snapped at me, so I complain pointing to the bunny each time I see it and watch it from a distance.
I have been moving aroud a lot and having a lot of acidents of lately. I recently slipped a step in the small staircase in our apartment and tubbled down. Mom caught me before I hit the floor but it was a very scary experience for me and everyone at home. I have a big bruise on my nose. After I get a wound I go "nosh vaagu" or "kneesh vagu" and point to the body part. Last week NYC area had a big advisory for "Hurricaine Irene" and since we are buy the riverfront we had evacuated and gone to Kaki-Kakas place. We were all confined indoors for a day which was quite a challenge. Luckily the hurricaine lost its force and we didnt feel it much beyond some flooding on the streets. Whew!
And Ive been doing great on potty training. I have days when I have an accident or so, but I usually can hold up if I need to go pee and if we are in the car or on the highchair or such. I still use diapers at night and naps.

18 months old!
I am now so good at walking. I love to get out of the elevator and run towards our apartment, imitating Aariv. It seems i need to re-learn my name. Now ehevener you ask me "whats your name?" I reply "Aaruuuu!" and I need to be taught to say Anaya.
I love my school and am very cheerful and am singing different tunes everyday in the car or when I am at home. I still wont eat unless I am feeding myself and unless you foorget to give me Yogurt with my lunch I have no issues.
I have got much more mobile and my favorite new activity is trying to climb up the very high back of the armchair in our living room which gets the adults super anxious. My mommy used to give me my milk in my sippy cup in bed but a recent trip to the dentist stopped that. Now I drink my milk shortly after dinner, brush and then go to bed. I loove books and sometimes I just look at a book on my own before going to bed. Aariv gets to read a book with mommy or papa but I am usually fast asleep by then. This is life for a second sibling!
We had an easter egg hunt in school and the easter bunny came over to my school and hopped around with us in the park. The weather is nice and we also went out and picked some leaves and flowers for an art project which we will be making in som days.
