half a year old!

I have come so far in these past 6 months! Mommy tried to put me on the potty and I fell and got a bad bruise on my nose that lasted a few days. It made her feel it was too early, but from coaxing from Dadi she put me on the potty again, monitored me and I am doing soo much better now. I pee and sometimes even go poo poo on the potty. Whenever I do something in the potty mommy claps her hands and goes "Anaya is a good girl!!" and I looooove it!Its been about two weeks into it but today my diaper was totally dry through the day. Dadi diligently took me to the potty every 45 minutes. And I pee as soon as I sit on it. Aint you proud of me?

I love reading a book with Aariv and mom at bedtime. I reach out for the book and try to turn the page. I also started on real food. Rice cereal from mommys finger was my first food, followed by carrots, zuccini, sweet potato, green beans and I shall start with fruits soon.

And here is my seven-month update. I have somehow figured to roll over to my tummy, lift and kick my feet and go backward when I'm on my foam. Then I finally run into the wall and start crying till you get me away from the wall. And everything repeats. Dadi got me some delicious cut up mangoes and I tried them today! My initial reaction was like it was sour but after mommy pureed them I loved them.

I looove taking baths now!

I especially enjoy the massage that mom gives me after my bath.

Here are some pics from my first trip to the park now that the weather is nice.

It was so much fun watching Aariv play with all those kids!

Ms chatterbox

Thats me! I am a very expressive 5 month old. I blabber in response to seeing my parents or dadi when they get back home from outside. Though you cant understand words, I can through tone of my voice express to anyone my joy, boredum, hunger or sleep. The only exception is Aariv. When I see him I forget my complaints, look at him with interest, smile and try to fire up a conversation. I have a sense of humor and start chuckling when you make a funny face or sound.
I have my 5 month checkup tomorrow. This will also be a life altering event for me as I am scheduled to get my ears pierced. Gosh, the price we have to pay to look good!
I have gotten pretty good at rolling over to my tummy. I can now raise my shoulders and head to enjoy the view for some time but then I get tired of keeping my head raised and start yelling for help. Then someone turns me to being on my back. What a workout.
I also love slurping on my fingers and thumb. If I am quiet in my crib or playmat, and its not sleepytime yet you will likely catch me with my thumb or fingers in my mouth. Dadi has started putting mittens on my hands-I still manage eating my hands but its no fun eating through a wet mitten.
I am sleeping less during the day - 2 or 3 naps; and nights are getting better through sleep training. I sometimes cry a bit at 3.30am but go back to sleep, and usually wake up at 5.45am and demand breakfast.
My first flight and vacation were great! It was a short flight at 3 and a 1/2 hours but carrying my carseat across the airport made dad realize I had gotten quite heavy. Beaides that, it was all fun. I loved the strollers they put in our room and the crib made me feel at home. We even had a baby bathtub that I enjoyed! I didnt make it to the pool yet and will wait for summer and make it to the pool in our condo.

4 month update

I am now 4 months old. The month started bad as I got my first ear infection. I had to take antibiotics, I got a fancy instrument to vaporise my nose and get the congestion out of my chest called a nebulizer. The only good part of all this as that my shots were delayed - I had to come back after a week to get my 4 month shots. I am still good practicing my rolling over. Things could have been better but mommy thinks they got a bit delayed because of my sickness.
I finally got my shots yesterday. I was a bit sick in the evening but as soon as I got busy with my beautiful hands I forgot all about the pain.

Now, for some fun pictures:)Heres one of me hanging out with Aariv. I can sit up now!

All set to leave for my first flight and my first vacation to sunny florida!

My new bed!

I just moved to a crib and thats where I sleep most of the time. I sleep in the bassinet sometimes during the day but most of the time I'm in the crib. It has a nice aquarium that has moving fish and makes great sounds! I love staring at the fish till I fall asleep.

My nani and nana left me to go back home, I wil miss them :( But I know I will be spoilt equally by my dadi dada over the next few months. And I will keep updating my blog for the rest of you all.

I can roll over!

This afternoon I went to the playroom with dadi dada and Aariv and my dadi put me on my playmat under a toy that I loved to kick. As soon as dadi pulled the toy away I rolled over to my tummy. Mom and dad had gone out to get me some stuff and they couldnt believe dadi when she told them of my feat over the phone. Once they got back papa put me on my mat but I was not ready to roll over then. I guess they're gonna have to wait it out!

Mommy has been trying to hand me over my toys and I now clench them for a few seconds before I let go. So many new things to learn!

I found my hands!

Whenever I am unswaddled mommy makes sure she gets my mittens of so I can play with my hands. I keep looking at them - first to my right at my right hand, then I look at the left hand. I just cant get over checking out my amazing hands. Then I slowly get my hands together and clench them above my chest. Then I slowly bring them close to my mouth. First they wouldnt make it all the way to my mouth but they would break loose. Then I would start all over again. However, now I am getting better at this and you would often hear me slurping on my fingers. Then mommy puts my mittens back on. And that ends the fun.

I am sleeping a bit less and am awake for more hours in the day. I have the 5 to 6 hour stretch at night, I sleep from 10 to 3.30, have a quick meal and go back to sleep till 6.30 or 7.

I love conversing with talkative people - I respond with smiles, gurgles, aahs and oohs. I do recognise familiar faces and dont take too long to get acquainted to a new person-its all good as long as you are talkative.
